This online LTC class is 4 hours plus the written exam (multiple choice and true/false test).

Administered through videos that are broken into 15-20 minute segments, you can take the online LTC class at your own pace and in your own home from anywhere in Texas. Progress is saved at the completion of each video, allowing you to take the online LTC class as fast or slow as you want. Watch for 15 minutes and come back to continue another day, or watch all 4 hours. Its all up to you! Developed to be taken from your computer, smartphone or tablet, you have the most flexibility when choosing when and how to take the class.

Who can take the class?

Anyone from anywhere in Texas can take our official Texas Online License to Carry Class. It does not matter what city you are in! Our LTC class is certified and approved by Texas DPS statewide. Once the class has been completed, your certificate of completion, the LTC-101, will be immediately available to download.

The LTC-101 certificate is good for 2 years after completing the online concealed carry class. This means that you have 2 years to take the proficiency demonstration and submit it to DPS. The LTC applicant must also be 21 at the time the application is submitted to DPS. Because the certificate is good for 2 years, students can take the class and even the proficiency demonstration at 19 years old and be able to apply for the LTC with the certificate at 21 years old.

Proficiency Demonstration

After finishing the course, the student is provided a completed LTC-101 form. This is the certificate that will be provided to DPS to show completion of the class. The LTC-101 certificate needs to be taken to a Texas certified LTC instructor to complete the proficiency demonstration. Everyone that takes the Texas Online LTC / CHL class will need to take the proficiency demonstration.

This is an additional fee and is not included with the purchase of the online LTC class. Please contact an LTC instructor for pricing. If you purchased the online LTC class from a store or range, please contact them for details and pricing.

Texas Approved Online Course Provider

Don’t be fooled by other companies offering a license to carry or concealed handgun license that are not Texas Approved Online Course Providers. If they are not an approved online course provider through the state of Texas then you will not receive a Texas License to Carry. You will receive a license from a different state, not Texas. Out of state licenses do not offer the same benefits of a Texas LTC. If you choose to go through another company, please be sure they are an approved online course provider through the state of Texas and that you are actually applying for a Texas LTC.

The instructor, Joel Kuchenski, is certified under Texas GC 411.188 and GC 411.190 to administer the LTC Online Course (classroom instruction only).
